Dear Members

Do you know how Inspector's Grade Pay Revised ?

The General Secretaries of ITET, ITGOA,AICUA,AICPSF submitted the strike notice  to the Government on 05.11.2009 intimating they would be on strke from 26.11.2009. Their main demand is to upgrade the Grade Pay for Inspectors working in Income Tax etc. Then only the Government taken a decision and issued orders on 13.11.2009.

But for the serving of the strike notice and the mobilization unleashed this would not have been possible to be acheived. I conveyed my sincere thanks and appriciataion to them.

we are having some hurdles in getting Grade Pay Rs 4600 for Inspectors, It is possible  to remove the same and our brothers will get  RS 4600 Grade Pay.

Merger of IP and ASP cadres. What is your view?

With the Finance Ministry upgrading the Grade Pay of 4200 to 4600 for the pre-revised scale of 6500 - 10500, we are pressing for a GP of 4600 for Inspector Posts.

Since, ASPs are already in the Grade Pay of 4600, demanding higher GP for ASPs at this juncture will only result in further delay in getting GP of 4600 for IPs.

If we ask for a separate GP for ASP, with the intention of retaining the ASP cadre, it will give rise to similar demands from Inspectors in other Departments, which do not have an intermediate cadre equivalent to our ASP cadre. In that case, our demand for GP of 4800 for ASP will not be considered favourably by Ministry of Finance.

In order to avoid this embarrasing situation and unnecessary delay in getting GP of 4600 to IPs and at the same time to get a better deal for ASPs, can we suggest merging the IP and ASP posts, so that present ASPs will automatically get a GP of 4800 and 5400 in their 2nd ACP and 3rd ACP. Direct IPs will get a GP of 4800, 5400 and 6000 in their 1st, 2nd and 3rd ACPs, respectively.

Your valuable opinions are invited in this regard.

Revision of GP from 4200 to 4600 for IPs: Member (P) addressed.

GS has addressed Member (P) regarding revising the Grade Pay of IPs from 4200 to 4600. Contents of the letter is given below:

A kind reference is invited to MoF memo no. 1/1/2008-IC dated 13.11.09 regarding revision of Grade Pay from 4200 to 4600 in respect of posts which were in the pre revised scale of Rs.6500 - 10500 as on 01.01.2006.

Inspector Posts is always comparable with the post of Inspectors working in Central Excise and Customs. The 6th Pay Commission recommended upgaradation of pay scale of IP on par with the Inspectors of Central Excise, Customs and Income Tax.

In order to maintain parity among Inspectors working in other Departments, it is requested to revise the GP of IP from 4200 to 4600.
